So...my cat is still going strong more than two years after diagnosis! My vet attributes her amazing health to Azodyl, regular sub-cutaenous fluids and a good diet. I am thrilled that Vetoquinol came out with smaller caplets this year - they are soooo much easier to administer.

I swear this stuff is saving my cat's life. My Gabby cat is now 12 yrs old and was diagnosed 9 mos ago. She went downhill after just a few mos--not wanting to eat, losing weight, hunched up, having stomach acid pain, hiding under the bed, etc. We started Azodyl 4 months ago and started noticing a HUGE difference after just 1 month. She's back to eating, gained weight, enjoys chirping at bugs and birds and even chases the other cat! I am so, so grateful for advances in vet medicine and that we have this product to treat this horrible disease.

My 11 year olf Yorkie was diagnosed with chronic kidney diesase when I took her to the Vet. She began urinating on her self (during sleep) and drinking large amount of water 2-3 months prior to the Vet visit. After 2 days of taking this, the incontinence has stop and she returned to normal water consumption habits.I definitely recommend this product, as IT WORKS!!! Thank you

Azodyl is a life saver. My little 6 lb toy poodle takes the pill whole with peanut butter. Just wrat the pill with a little peanut butter on my finger and he licks it off. No problems swallowing the pill...

My 16 1/2 y/o Vanilla diagnosed with ADVANCED crf in March of this year. I began giving her Azodyl and Epakitin a week later. This combination is a miracle - it has saved her life! She has changed DRAMATICALLY! Her coat is fuller, she's eating(like a horse), gaining weight (she was under 5 lbs), and she's as active as a 5 y/o cat. I sprinkle both on her food in the morning and just the Epakitin in the evening. DO NOT GIVE UP!!! This IS the answer!

My cat Min'me is 12 years old and was just diagnosed on June 4th. The vet prescibed Azodyl I am happy to see the all the sucess reviews it makes me feel there is hope for her. The only issue is the capsule size I have been using to pill pockets and squishing them and the first day no problem. Now my cat knows and spits the capsule out. I have resorted to the plastic pill pusher in the mouth.

My kitty gets horrendous diarrhea from Azodyl when swallowed whole. I called the manufacturer and she said ( a vet ) to open capsule and give on an empty stomach and then wait one hour to feed. Hope it works.

Azodyl is awesome!!!We have an 18 year old min-pin still going strong, we give him the Azodyl to help his kidneys function at his age. We also use pill pockets to get the pill down whole, works like a charm.

My vet said it is okay to open the pill. I mix the powder in with her canned food or a spoonful of plain kefir and she loves it. I don't know if she's getting better but she's not getting worse, so its a small investment just in case.

Okay guys, I rescued a 5 pound abused Maltese from South Korea. He has a small trachea from botched de-barking and an enlarged heart. He physically couldn't swallow the pill: UNTIL my clever husband hid the pill in some soft cheese (like a cheese cube or a glob of soft white cheese). The dog gulped it down no problem, where before we were trying to shove it down his throat and he was gagging and fighting. It's a HUGE pill but try the cheese cube. GOOD LUCK

The azodyl rocks. You must serve the pill whole , it is meant to open in the intestine . If you open it the stomach acid kills the special bacteria. Get a pill gun, push on the side of the cats jaw , and shoot it in the back of throat. It is a life saver , the cat also needs feline pepcid to soothe the ulcers they get from acid build up in the stomach. They also love the epakitan , it is made from clam and schrimp shells , mix it i n. Thses are awesome use um

November 2009, I didn't think my 13 year old Westie would make it through the winter. My Vet said he had 75% renal failure & started him on Azodyl. Within 4 weeks he was like a new dog. He walks taller and with a spring in his step and has quit having 'accidents' in the house. It's July 2010 and he is still going strong!

Yes, the pill is huge, but I coated it lightly with some yogurt and held his jaws open and placed it in the back of his throat and down it went without incident in less then 2 seconds. Then I immediately offered my cat his favorite treats and all was back to normal and happy. What I found helpful when pilling my cat initially was to have a second pair of hands (in this case, my husband's) to hold the cat's front shoulders while I open my cat's jaw using my thumb and index finger opened his mouth wide and placed the coated pill in the back of the throat. Then I always give treats and hugs afterwards.

My cat has just been diagnosed with renal insufficiency and I have started her on Azodyl. One thing I don't understand is that if the caplets have to be refrigerated for the beneficial micro-organsims to survive, how the heck do they survive once they hit the stomach acid and heat in a cat's stomach and intestines?
