Our Betta developed the "sinking fish" syndrome which is a symptom of an infected swim bladder. The Ampicillin did the trick! He is thriving and happy again! We did purchase a 3 gallon tank as suggested. He was in a 1 1/2 gal. 5 gal. and larger is ideal as I discovered in my research.
